  The Cambridge Science Festival is kicking off a question campaign urging festival-goers to voice their questions and begin a dialogue about climate change. "What is climate change?" "Why are glaciers melting and what happens to people who live nearby?" Send us your questions, and plan to join us on Saturday, April 21st for our "Rivers of Ice: What's Your Question?" symposium featuring mountaineer and filmmaker David Breashears, and moderated by PRI's Marco Werman, with panelists Orville Schell, Susan Solomon, James Wescoat, and Graham Cogley.

Recent attention has been given to expanding the portfolio of gasoline and diesel alternatives. The result is significant discussion around the “Open Fuel Standard” which would require that vehicles be capable of using a range of ethanol and methanol blends, and encourage or force the sale of other alternatives: hydrogen, electricity, CNG, etc.

The MIT Museum welcomes you to the public unveiling of Rivers of Ice: Vanishing Glaciers of the Greater Himalaya. Take a special opening day tour of the exhibition with MIT faculty and staff knowledgeable about such topics as glaciology, water rights, geology, and then join a fast-paced discussion about how your exhibit experience was influenced by your guide’s scientific perspective. Featured author, Susan Solomon, Ellen Swallow Richards Professor of Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate Science, MIT, presents her book "The Coldest March".  Professor Solomon's riveting book tells the tragic story of Captain Robert Falcon Scott and his British team who in November 1911 began a trek across the snows of Antarctica, striving to be the first to reach the South Pole.
