Prof. Lawrence Susskind
Leah is working on science-policy issues related to negotiations of the global mercury convention. She is developing the new Mercury Game with Prof. Susskind and Prof. Noelle Selin. The game is a negotiation simulation developed to teach people about the role of science in international environmental policy making. It was officially launched in July 2011 at a demonstration in Halifax, Canada, as part of the International Conference of Mercury as a Global Pollutant. Players included mercury scientists and staff from national environmental agencies; students and faculty from a number of American and Canadian universities were also in attendance. Following the game, Leah presented game-related research at the "United Nations Environment Programme Global Mercury Partnership" special session.
