The New England Aquarium and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute announce a joint symposium on climate change and the marine environment. Climate change will have significant effects on the economy of Massachusetts and the natural environment of the Gulf of Maine. Join fellow business leaders, policy makers, elected officials and non-governmental organizations to examine the effects of climate change on coastal development, real estate, fisheries, marine mammals and other resources. Together, we will explore the implications for Massachusetts policies and priorities for the future. Keynote speakers include: Dr. Daniel Shrag, Director, Harvard University Center for the Environment; Dr. Gary Yohe, Professor of Economics, Wesleyan University, and UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Confirmed panelists include: Katherine Abbott, Director of Operations, Trustees of the Reservations; Ian Bowles, Mass. Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs; Ellen Doublas, U. Mass.
